I work for Lowe's corporate in digital content... i do websites for them. Well, we're launching this new program in March called Shop Class. It's a beginner woodworking thing.

I figured I'd post up here for anybody who might be interested. It's gonna be a 4 week video how-to series (That we email to you each week) on building an Adirondack chair. Gonna teach basic woodworking skills, and show you how to build this thing, and use a couple different saws.

Registration is here: http://lowescreativeideas.com/shopclass

This is perfect for kids over about age 8 or so. Great way to get in the shop with 'em and teach 'em something cool.

I figured some of you with rug rats might want something to do on a Saturday. Or if you just want to try building something a little different this is a good opportunity.

Plus it's kinda my baby... I did the design and stuff for it, and we've dumped a lot of time and resource into it. So I'd like it to be successful so I can keep working here. :flipoff2:

Sign up even if you don't want to build it... And DEFINITELY give me some feedback on what you think if you do!

Again, registration is here: http://lowescreativeideas.com/shopclass

It's an email based class. CheetahMail is the vendor we use for all our email campaigns. It redirects to their site now to collect registration info.

Why not keep it all at lowes.com, or at least something seeming similar?
lowes.com for now is a completely separate entity. That's the retail site. Ours is the magazine. Coming Aug. 09 they'll be merging. FYI, neither lowes.com nor lowescreativeideas.com host their own databases. We use vendors.
