They're very easy to do yourself. A few basic tools and you can be done in a couple hours. To get the insert in the tire just stand the insert up and then lay the tire across it perpendicular to the insert and push the tire down. Then use a couple pry bars and a rubber mallet to work the insert inside the tire. You can use soapy water to help lube it, but you probably won't need it.
