I've had this saw for 3 or 4 years now and I've cut miles of wood with it. In addition to the finger saving stuff it's also one of the best saws in its class.
1) It's heavier, which woodworkers love because that's said to reduce vibration and improve the cut.
2) The riving knife rises and lowers with the blade so as soon as you pass the blade your kickback risk is almost nothing. A normal saw has the splitter a few inches behind because it doesn't move with the blade.
3) The dust collection is improve by directing the suction to the bottom of the blade instead of just in the cabinet in general.
4) The table is adjusted for blade alignment with set screws instead of with a mallet.
5) It has cabinet access with doors on each side.
On the downside, switching over to a dado blade takes about 1 minute longer and the price is a lot higher. I've cut wet wood and pressure treated wood, no problems. I haven't cut myself yet but there are a bunch of owners that have and every one that I've heard of just got a little knick, even a guy with a 3/4" dado blade.
