Should I buy Rough Country 6.5 inch lift?

What vehicle is this for? XJ? If so, there are a lot of people using their long arm kit, without issue, but it's not the best lit out there. But it gets the job done. Better than a short arm kit

Coil springs will sag more than you might think, shock pairing isn't always right, sometimes too short sometimes too long, flex ends wear quickly on short arms, don't know about long arms.

If you want a lift that'll last about a year, yes its ok.

If you want one to last for years, no.

okay so i'll probably go with the iron rock 5.5 because ive heard good things about their flex and ride quality. is it worrth it to add in blisten or the other shocks offered? Thanks for the help everyone!

The company gives you a hint of how the ride is going to be in its name..."Rough"

yep, go with IRO. I bought their 8" 3 Link Long Arm and loved the ride and performance and easy install. heres the jeep it went on with 10" lift.

ohh yeah, put some extra weight in the back for a week or two and ride around with that to quicker brake in the rear springs, they were a bit stiff for a while but other than that liked it a lot for the price of 8" complete long arm kit you can't beat it.

that was the lift added up to 12" with 39.5 Truxs,...SO FAR THE COOLEST AND TALLEST JEEP XJ I'VE EVER BUILT. of course not very trail worthy with stock diffs, but was the coolest thing to ride around in and so TALL it was cool to finally look down onto those big cab trucks!!LOL, it was a cool mall crawler!!

Just remember you get what you pay for. Anything over 3.5-4" on short arms is gonna ride like a dump truck, long arms will fix that though.

how about a lil more info.
what ya driving?
where ya driving?
what do you want?

just a few minor details

I agree with Ron too, in a xj mostly street driving and weekend trail run here and there Rough Country is great for price and stuff, but when you really want long lasting, great flexing, and more trail than street than the other long arm kits are the way to go. I've always used Rough Country until I built that big Yellow Jeep just to see what a "real lift" felt like and was pretty happy. I gotta admit though, for the sake of money and such, I always put more money in engine/tires/drivetrain and lift is always last. lifts are last for me cause they can be fabbed, rigged, ghettofied, whatever we come up with to make it work (especially on a XJ) but tires/drivetrain/and engine can't be. that's my reasoning
