Should I Replicate This Keyway

The stock mounting bracket on my hydroboost unit has this little keyway on it, and the PartsMike conversion bracket does not, I’m sure because it’s a universal part.
Is it worth my time cutting a keyway into the new bracket and making a little key to fit? I called PartsMike and he said “Part of me says once it’s all tightened down it will be fine, but the do it right part of me says to cut the keyway in”.

What do y’all think?

Wouldn't take long at all to dab a weld on the edge and shape to match the key. I would do it.

I wouldn't worry about it.

I made mine with a 1/4 plate and a hole saw, no tab. It's been fine for almost 10 years. I'd not waste a bit of time worrying about it.

What Tim said, but if you want a tab, bring it by the shop and I'll weld a booger on it that you can shape into a tab.
