My boss came across this deer close to downtown Greensboro. Never seen anything like this. There was a german shepard attacking it right before he took this pic. He called animal control. They didn't believe there was a problem until he emailed this pic to them. He went by about 1/2 hr later, animal control and 3 police cruisers were there.

Wow, that is nasty. I wonder what it is and I would also be wondering if it was contagious, especially for that dog.

Just did a little google research and it looks like those are warts on the deer. If that is what it is, then it is caused by a virus and is not be passed on to humans. Some of the articles even said the meat was still edible, but I don't think I would eat it...

thats is caused by being inbread not that the deer was born like that but its week system could not fight the disease. But u know hunting is bad and we should never hunt so that more deer endup like this and there disease get washed into our lakes and streams JK. dumb DITAL

I would have shot in on the spot. Hunting season be damned

Cutaneous fibromas, likely from insects. Deer can usually recover from them when winter comes around. No need to put them out of their misery. In other words, let the deer live if you don't plan to eat it. Unless they also have a bacterial infection, consumption would be fine. This deer has a lot of them so they may have lead to it's problems but usually they don't.
