Insert scream-I can't breathe!!! This is the worst head cold I've had in years and now it seems to be slipping into my chest. It came over me saturday and seems to have just gotten worse everyday since. VERY frustrating.
I think my cold could be a direct result from riding up the mountain at Windrock in a buggy with no heat or windshield in minus 30* weather. To the elements I say:fuck-you:
Things to be thankful for: My jeep that has a windshield and heat(when not on jackstands). My health as this could be much worse, although its hard to believe right now:rolleyes:

Rant over, cough...sniffle

It's going around here....my DW had it last week, I had it over the weekend.

Both of us were super-hungry for a couple of days, too...that hit you yet? Friday night I ate big, dessert and everything, and was still hungry--had a snack right soon after supper, too.

Bad thing about a cold is you feel bad, but not bad enough to stay home(most of the time)but you really don't feel like doing anything.

Hope you feel better soon.

Lot's of OJ for the vitamin C and the acidic environment, usually works for me, along with something to either open me up, or stop me up, which ever I need.
Quit cryin and go work on your rig!

Go to wall mart & get 2 bottles of Airborne take 3 times a day.
Twice a day chicken soup (home made with local chickens are better) it contains a natural antibiotic.
Hope you feel better

cry baby:flipoff2:

:lol:Yall haven't heard me cry yet, just ask my wife. Melissa has me taking everything under the sun. Nasanex (sp?) seems to be working the best.
I haven't gotten the big appetite yet and I can't seem to get myself to sit still. I've cleaned the house from top to bottom, cleaned out the truck and made some bbq sauce.
I have to work tommorrow and thursday. While I'm not looking forward to it the double time and gravy work on thurs. should help me forget about starving for air.
Chip, I'm being VERY stingy with any sick time or PTO since I'm really serious about taking a trip out west next year. I moved some axle shafts and a bumper out of my truck and re-organized the parts pile today;)

Flood it with OJ... I was fighting off a cold a few months ago, I felt it coming. I drank 1/2 gal a day for 3 days.. I took it to work and just drank it every chance I could..

Just beat a cold with Alka-seltzer cold tablets. Orange flavor tastes like Orange soda. knocked it out pretty quick.
Yes, use alka-seltzer.

Just dont use the recomended amount of water. I only use about an inch of water.Sure, its a really intense shot of
the alka, but its only a shot, and thats better than drinking all of it. Just drink some plain water right afterwards. It will mix itself!

Sure, its a really intense shot of
the nastiness, but its only a shot, and thats better than chugging 10 swallows.

you never complained before.....:flipoff2:

x2
the zicam dissolvable tablets to fight the cold.
j hope you feel better man.

x2 on the zicam, I use them everytime i feel like i am getting sick.

If you must get the sinuses freed... military grade tear gas! Crap LE grade or pepper spray will do in a pinch too!

The trick is don't let the short term discomfort influence your longterm comfort.

And because someone will ask... I stumbled on this little "remedy" one day in Gitmo. I was suffering from a bad sinus infection (from swimming all afternoon and laying on a concrete pad, watching movies & drinking all might). 1st Sgt. needed someone fetched and said I could secure as soon I got him back... unfortunately his squad was in the chamber and my mask was locked up at Buckley. Went in grabbed him... took a few minutes to get it all snotted out, eyes to stop burning and head back... took a few minutes in the truck before I realized something reeked, very bad! Turned out I could smell (for the 1st time in weeks) and somebody had left me a little surprise (festering C-rat garbage) under the passenger bench

For the next 3years, I'd head to the nearest chamber for a dose at the first sign of a head cold... never had anyone deny me entry!

hmmmmm...

Wonder if you could just crush the alka seltzer up and snort it?

After all it IS a head cold!

LOL!!

Sorry...

hope ya feel better!

Thanks guys. I'll be stopping in at the store to pick up some alka & OJ on the way to work in the morning.

For some reason whenever I get stuffed up I always think back to Crocidile Dundee and get a chuckle. Anybody remember the scene at the party?

At any given time there is enough "stuff" in your upper respiratory to make you sick. Your body's immune system is fighting it. When you compromise you body's immune system (like lowering it's core temp) it can't fight those nasties in your nose. Be wise and wear a coat and keep your vitamin c intake up.

I bet the windsheild will be in it this weekend.....get the nasal inhaler of Zicam, it's a miracle drug for opening up your sinuses.

oh yeah and what's another word for a cat?:flipoff2:
