well went to ure a couple of weeks ago and sliced the sidewall of my tsl. it is about an inch or so long and seems to go in kinda sideways. with the tire sitting on level ground it will hold air but will loose air fairly quickly when the tire is deformed(i.e. crawling over a rock). my question is: can my tire be fixed? can a patch be put on it or do i have to get a tube or what? it will now be my spare but it isnt going to do much good if it will not hold air. any help would be appriciated.

If you're just going to run it as a spare, put a patch on it to keep crud out, and put a tube in it. I wouldn't reccomend running it on the road for very long like that though.

you can get it vulcanized but i would only use that as a spare

Don't run it on the road, but I cut mine really bad in mountain city one time on the sidewall so bad that it took 9 plugs to stop it from leaking. I ran it the rest of the trip and 2 more trips after that. I bought them from 4 wheel parts, and had the warrenty. If not for the warrenty...... I would still be running it today.

I had a 35x12.50 double patched and tubed at Hall Tire, 421 at I40. Ran it for several years, no problems. I'd give them a try.

It's very safe if you have it fixed right. I had one done on a bogger and it looks great. Took it to a semi tire place that does retreads.
