Sidney Lowe new NCSU head b'ball coach?

yep...my brother sent me a link from the Raleigh News & Observer yesterday...

obviously not the first choice (rather like 7th or 8th if I remember)...but we definitely could've done a lot worse...

I love the quote from Scott Fowler in our paper:

Sidney Lowe has failed in two previous tries as a head coach. He's still a few weeks away from his college degree. He doesn't have one bit of collegiate coaching experience. And it took N.C. State five weeks to come up with this?

Is this what you wanted, Wolfpack fans? Is this why a significant number of you were so eager to get rid of Herb Sendek?

Have they fired up the firesidneylowe.com site yet? He's the only one willing to put up with the fans. Sendek was a good strategist, but he had trouble realizing when his strategy had been broken.

I like Tom Suiter's take on it. He was a good player who understood the game well even then and you can't really judge his coaching ability based on the two teams he had to deal with. I hear he's also bringing back other former State players as assistant coaches. It will be nice to see real Pack people involved and I think it'll be good for the team. He may only have stories from 1983, but that is all State has right now. I'll just hope for the best for them.

As for Scott Fowler, hmm... doesn't like Lowe as the pick but would've preferred Phil Ford... what do you expect from a Carolina grad?
