I'm considering swapping my NV3500 to an NV4500 for obvious reasons....I also want to build a 408 stroker eventually. Not that the cammed/high compression 6.0 isn't enough, but.... :driver:

That being said, I'm working with a 99 Silverado 1500 (NBS) and I know that the 2500HD truck bodies sat higher on the frames. It'd be great if someone knew for sure that the 4500 would clear without a body lift.

Can't find much on the internet about it. I've had both transmissions in my sight, but never had the two next to each other. I have an NV3500 in the Silverado and an NV4500 in my K30, but I'll still need to get another NV4500 to complete this swap.

Any ideas yall?

Not sure how useful this information is, but on my TJ I had an NV3550 with a completely flat skid and about 1-2 inches of clearance under the tub. Now with the NV4500, I had to drop the skid 1" to keep an inch of clearance at the tub.

I figure it'll hang a little lower, which doesn't bother me. I know they're way easier to take out and put bolt back up. I'm just hoping the trans tunnel in the body is big enough to clear without a body lift. I'd hate to make the truck any higher than it is at the moment.
