So im sure some of you might remember the run in I had with a girl that was a co worker that accused me and another guy that I work with of sexual harrassment earlier this year....well she has been gone for about 3 months now from our department (still within the company) and was recently fired on Tuesday. I had heard that she had some run ins with some other workers and they all complained and I guess upper management thought it would be best to let her go. Well Yesterday, there was a cop that was standing in our office just there "keeping an eye on things" He said that there would be someone here at least for the rest of this week and when I asked why. The cop replied " Corporate just said they wanted someone here for a few days". Now, this girl we are talking about IS crazy....I just wonder if she is the reason for the police showing up and just keeping an eye on things......We have never had this happen in the 3.5 years I have been here and nor at any of time anyone else that has been here longer can think of.
My question is...if the reason the cops are showing up is to insure that she doesnt try to come back and do something, do they have to tell us that? Just has me a bit on edge. It just seems weird that the day after she gets fired, police start showing up......

they don't have to tell you, that the crazy bitch said she was coming back to de-nut the cherokeekid.

Im being serious guys. Im not scared but I think she is the type of person that would do something crazy. I don't think that she will. but I do think that the people who they are worried about should be notified and told to keep it quiet.

The answer is no, there is no legal requirement for them to tell you anything. And in fact if they did tell people say it was because they were suspicious she might cause trouble, they could be liable for a slander suit.

I think you should pull your coworkers together and petition for a Conceal Carry Friendly Work Place in light of recent events.
I SAID THIS!!! I was talking to one of the cops about it. I just mentioned that with all the stuff that has been going on, I was gonna get my CC, but a couple people in my department are those who think guns kill people...so that wouldn't go over well.

And this is why I am glad i can work from home.

We had to let a guy go that had questionable mental stability.. Yeah I was the home office for a week or so.

I know of a similar situation where someone was let go and the next day there was a security guard there for the next couple weeks. I think it may be the new norm. Everyone is worried what people are going to do after they are fired for a questionable situation.

Work let a guy go and he was the type you'd wonder what he might do. They had some type security or off duty cop walked him out and then he sat in the parking lot from 7-7 that whole week.

We had a guy get let go a couple years ago over a comment about coming back and taking care of business. Those werent his words but it was something to that effect. Apparently some other employees had been teasing him over something for a while and he had just had enough. Knowing the guy, it was probably a situation where you say something and instantly wish you hadnt. I dont think he would have done anything but if that kind of thing is said and security isnt heightened, I imagine the company could be held liable if the person were to come back. There was a sheriff on site for a week or two after that.

If its against policy, you will be let go. If your prepared to loose your job over it, then carry away.

I'd rather lose my job than my life. I can get another job. Or have Uncle Obama take care of me while I sit at home reloading and cleaning my guns.
