I'm looking for an efficient (5-10 amps) compact electric fan to use on a heater core box I built for the Jeep. Single or multi speed will work. Somewhere in the range of 6-8" diameter and plan is to build a detatchable shroud.

There's this type online for $45 but was there ever a similar fan used in a vehicle specific application? If so what car?

I have nothing specific, but I've seen many small foreign cars, in the junk yards, that have dual radiator fans. One is usually used for cooling, & the other for AC. They may be in the 10-12" size. Also Flex a lite Fans, sell dual set ups, but you don't want their 11" dual fan at $400+. Maybe check out the oil cooler & transmission fans.

That oil cooler fan looks like it would peel the paint off the tub if you tried to run it as a heater fan

I built the heater system in anticipation of using one. In this case its easier to dumb down a cooler fan than adapt a standard heater fan in all its awkwardness.
