Today was first time i took my truck down to Uwarrie. I have a 93 toyota ext ca pickup that i have been slowly working on and hope to get a thread up for it soon. When i got to URE i dove right in and hit Daniel. [Seemmed wayyyy bigger in my truck that when with friends.] I made it all the way up and through with only two tugs and a safety line just in case. I was siked that i made it with never taking my truck before. Problem is that i ran the run with a half (or more) dead clutch. I knew it was gonna happen eventually but this was drastic. So my question is how many people have actually smoked a clutch out to where they got stuck on the way back home at URE. I'm Hoping im not the only one haha:shaking:

I've never had a problem with my clutch, I guess it is partly because once I'm on the trail my jeep never comes out of 4 lo. If you are properly geared and use the clutch with some sense you should never have a problem with it. Now if your clutch was already burnt before hitting the trails that’s a different story.

Saw a guy a few years back in a Zuk on Toy axles smoke his on Kodak Rock. He couldn't even back off the rock after he fried it. After a few minutes of cooling, he was able to baby it, but his weekend was done.

New Clutch All Done

Yea mine was already fried before i went i just didnt think it would go that drastically. I changed it out for a new one and i think i should be good from here on out. Im saving for a dual case to completly eliminate that problem but for now i think working the clutch is how i have to go.

i think im going to swap to a marlin 1600 clutch when i put my 4.7 case in, i have an autozone now and it works good but ive heard they dont like to be overheated

Yea i didnt have much of a choice i opted for a perfection clutch because i needed the car becasue its my only transportation. We'll see how well it does off road. Im going dual 2.7 cases soon hopefully.
