What is your best method of keeping them away, I have already put out moth balls, what else?

Keeping it for a pet like my daughter wanted to do is not an option.

I was cleaning out my spare room in the outbuilding and found this.

We are going to need a better picture from much closer.

Moth balls are the only thing I know of.

You can spread lyme around the outbuilding on the ground/wherever you think they are getting in.

Lyme burns their bellies as they slither so they stay away from it.

also.......its not like I am deathly afraid of snakes but if I walked in there and saw that I think I would have peed a little. Then probably blown the window out with a shotgun.

haha shot 6 holes in the roof of our tack room one sunday..........dad was pissed

I'd be looking at methods to better seal the building up... less reptiles, less rodents.... less rorries.

Mr. Snake has been re-located and I was told it was a Black Racer,

That's a Black Rat snake, they are usually slow moving and docile and can make great pets. A Black Racer would not hang out anywhere for long and would be gone in a flash if approached, they have a bad disposition and will readily bite if caught or cornered and they don't get as big/fat as the one in the pick, they are slender and very quick moving, hence the name.

Thats what I was thinking also, but I don't know the differences well enough so I was waiting on someone more educated on the topic. Black racers are intimidatingly fast when they want to be.

Saw this big MF in the attic moving stuff. Couldn't get a good picture. Not afraid of them just scared to hit my head on every rafter running back to the ladder if he attacks....or moves. Guess the rats in the garage are under control and shouldn't have to worry about the copper heads anymore. He's folded up, guessing 6-8 footer.

Damn Scott. That's a beast!

I have only seen one black snake around my house this year, he's big, we have no copperheads or rodents so I'm content.

nice, I used to catch them about every year and carry them into the office and offer them to the secretaries. They seemed to like the concrete and shade of the metal fab shop. Caught two in one day this year in the house, my wife wasn't pleased when I explained I let them go.

I agree, that young lady would not be holding a black racer, they have a nasty disposition.

Yeah he's one of the largest black snakes I have seen. Luckily he was just watching me fumble stuff down the ladder, probably laughing.

Yeah you've got a lot of woods around your house, I'm sure he eats well.
