.... on the Wifes Camry. Had a little shimmy up front so I figured I'd throw some 50/50 Anti Freeze/Water in the tires before heading to Florida this weekend.

Drive it to work today to make sure all is ok. and all is ok..... as long as I stay below 60mph. After that I get bad vibes. I put the same amount in all four tires. Only thing I can think of is that I haven't removed the old weights that Sears installed when I bought the tires. Am I being counter productive by leaving them on? Tires weren't too out of balance prior to my escapade of Tire balancing. So I figured it couldn't hurt to leave them on.

You did WHAT?

Probably around 60 mph the tire's inner surface tension will start slinging the water and altering the balance.

I suspect antifreeze will attack the tire over time. The water will corrode the metal or oxidize the aluminum wheels.

Remove the water, remove the weights, spin the wheel on a machine that checks for out-of-round. Relocate the tire as necessary on the rim to mitigate the out-of-round condition. Rebalance and you should be as good as it gets.

My $0.02

Nope. Seen tires and wheels that have had it in for years.. (including my own)

Ask Sam(Slim) how those Boggers looked.

In the world of heavy equipment people have been using antifreeze & water for years no problems that I have heard of

yep antifreeze in a camry tire is special, off road tire, tractor tire, yes. 4 door sedan tire not a real good idea. take your cheapness up to a tire shop and spend $40 bones and have them balanced.

CHEAPNESS! hell, I got hte tires at Sears and can get the Rotated and Balanced for FREE! I just don't live near a Sears now... :shaking:

Just one of those Moments of Ah Damn.. I can do this myself!

current boggers had antifreeze/water in them 4+ years.

run pretty smooth up to ~ 65, and they look new inside.

But you are talking about a tire that would throw a 12 on a tire machine.

your camry is prolly looking for .25 or.

There water combo is GREAT for coarse adjustment, not so good for fine tuning

They are really going to love that at sears. Gotta unmount all the tires to get the water/antifreeze out and then balance them. I guess that is better than dealing with a tire that has the tire slime or fix-a-flat in it though.

what do you run in your motor for coolant if you believe this? your rubber radiator hoses are the same material as a tire, your iron or aluminum block and heads are the same materials wheels are made out of...

Those Boggers still look good inside.
