Lame right?
This happen last night in the Atherton Heights town home complex off of South Blvd near Uptown Charlotte. Just wanted all the Charlotte people to know, and also to reiterate to not keep cool stuff in you trucks over night, because there are the lowest forms of life out there that think they can just take your stuff.
Full story below for your reading pleasure.
Here is the story, Got home at 1 am, friend dropped me off and we both can confirm that my truck had all of it windows in place at that time. Next morning roommate left the house at 6 am, found my truck was missing the driver front window. I looked inside and at the time thought nothing was missing, not even my Surefire flashlight. Called the cops, cop showed up 30 minutes later, inspected my truck got my statement and wrote the report. Started cleaning the truck and discover my iPhone charging cord and my cheap'o muliti-tool is gone, oh well not a big lost. The claim is already filed with the insurance company and the Truck is already at the dealership to get a new window and a little body work. The alarm did not go off, but I was not surprise, because the low life just climbed in the window and went through my center console and glove box.
I know, cool story right???
Now for some kinda tech but not really. So, since my factory alarm did not have a window breaking sensor or a motion sensor the low life did not trigger the alarm. This got me thinking could I install a motion detection in the cab, that when tripped would active my alarm? I would need to tie into the factory alarm some how which would be tricky but I think it can be done once the right wire is found, maybe. My truck is a 2014 Chevy Silverado which does not help at all with making this easy. I figure would look into the idea and see what I could find.
Edit: The 2015 Subrubs are getting motion detectors for this reason, so I am going to see If If I can put one in my truck.
