My son scored a 77 or 78 Jeep truck. The grill is unbent, first one I have ever seen not bent. I mean, you can lean on them and they bend. I think(not looked at it real good yet) the tailgate is in unrusted condition. Hood not dented and still has the insulation on it, not great condition, but it's there.
Has the auto with quarda-track gearbox. And front and rear 44's. Gonna be parting a lot of it so wondering what it's worth.
Oh and the kicker, it has the ever elusive 401 in it too!
We were told the guy who owned it used to crank it up every now and then, drive it around the yard, and then it would sit for a year or so until he decided to play with again. Neighbor said he thought it might have a burnt valve. Anyway, the plan is to take the 401 out, pull it apart, check it out, fix what needs to be fixed, and then put it his truck. ( my old J truck)
So since I have never parted out a truck before was wondering what some of this stuff is worth.
TIA

The grill can go anywhere from 50-100 (maybe more if you include the headlight buckets and bezels)

Hood 25-50

Tranny/xfer 100-300

Tailgate 50-200 (depending on buyer desperation)

axles 100-400 (depending on age of brakes, bearings seals etc.) cleaning and painting seem to go a long way.

401 I've seen blocks go for 500, running 1000-2000 depending on manifold carb, virgin or bored block etc.

The coolest thing about FSJs is that you have some pretty good parts that are worth something seperately, but their value seems to go in the shitter when you have a complete running truck.

I'll give you 500.00 for the whole thing sight unseen!

You can post a part out add on ifsja.org and you can really make money if you want to sell knobs, handles radios, badges, boogers stuck under the dash etc.

god luck

I'm serious about my offer

How is the tail gate? I would be interested in that. how is the bed is it a long or Short bed?

Most FSJ's you can get real cheap but real nice part s are sometimes very hard to find. But the FSJers are cheap and don't like too pay much for parts. I would say at least $100 for the grill if it is as good as you say. the fender are worth 50 -100 each with no rust. the hood is not worth much. since the are pretty much the same from 64-91 and are easy to get

The axle are goo to sell to a CJ owner of. I am assuming th it had a Q-trac so the rear is offset. I pretty much had to give mine rear d44 away. the front I would say 200-350
