2001 Super Duty RCLB 4x4. 5.4L, auto trans.
Clean NC title in my name. 180k miles.
Started misfiring on the road, after checking it out the #7 plug tip and ceramic came off and must have bent the exhaust valve. I was a dealer tech/manager for 20 years, first time ever seeing this. No running compression, will get to about 50psi if you rev it.
Truck runs and did run well when the plug came apart. The transmission shifts great, 4wd works great, A/C works great. Drives fine, newish shocks, rear calipers, good exhaust. I drove it regularly before it was hurt. Didn’t smoke, did use about 1 qt between 5000 mile changes. Always Ford filter and synthetic oil.
There is some body rust but nothing structural.
I am buying another diesel and do not want to dive into this.
$800 for you guys, have it for $1000 on CL.
