Ok that would make me father of the year wouldnt it! I didnt actually sell a human child, but I sold my Jeep which was my child since I have no kids of my own. I raised it, pampered it and took care of it when it was sick (broken). Everyday sucks seeing Jeep owners going down the road and reminding me of what I once had. The kicker is I was just laid off and bills were piling up fast so I had to sell. So I undersold myself and let it go for a steal:shaking:. To make things worse, a buy from NY flew down to take it back to the big apple so he could "drive it on the beach." So not only will I never see it again but it will be all rusted out too. The guy knew nothing about Jeeps and just wanted it cause it "looked cool." That really upset me b/c he had no clue of the money and time invested into it! I was explaining the air lockers to him and he said "dont worry ill never use them." :wtf: So needless to say Im not happy with the sale. I miss my Jeep and unappreciative J@ck@$$ needs to bring it back to me!

Just wonder if anyone else has had to sell theirs only to regret it immediately after? (PS - I sold mine a yr ago to the day almost.... guess Im just getting around to venting.. D@mn economy!!)

i ALMOST sold mine about 4 months ago..... thought it was the right thing to do..... i didn't NEED to, just thought i was tired of it..... anyways..... a guy emailed me about it and drove 9 hours with a trailer to look/buy it.... tried to lowball the hell out of me and left with an empty trailer..... i was that close to being jeepless..... i would have regretted the hell out of it..... after that i decided to keep it.....

about 10 years ago i had a 94 wrangler..... first vehicle and LOVED it!! for some stupid reason i traded it for a 86 V-6 firebird...... that turned out to have blown head gaskets..... that was dumb..... live and learn!

True Jeepin... I shop around everyday (with no actual spending money) for Jeeps for sale and they are well over the price of $8,500 I let mine go for which had brand new 35 MTR's, front shocks, and transmission... So I ate the cost on that! Like you said, live and learn! Just makes me sad....

I haven't necessarily regretted selling any vehicle yet, just regretted what I sold them for! Alternatively, I could have sat on them for who knows how long, and gotten even less. Selling vehicles isn't a fun game to play - in my experience the buyer comes out with the winning hand.

i really regret selling 2 of my civics.....dont really miss any of the other vehicles..there's been so many i've just never really got attached to most of them. now...guns and camera stuff i've sold, yeah i regret ALL of those being sold :(

I regreted having my lifted v8 ZJ stolen and not getting another one. Instead I bought the TJ I have now. I miss the room, the ride, the (best Tim Allen) aarrh arrh arrh 318 c.i. magnum pouring over fulltime 4wd built for blowing the doors off any v-tec that pulled up beside me at a stop light.

On the other hand I love my TJ. It's been better on gas while it was at 4$, easier and cheaper to work on, way more reliable and I like the frame compared to the zj's unibody.

Always think, THings happen for a reason. But I would have forced that dude to sit shotgun while I test drove it with him up the biggest tree I could find. These are LOCKERS!!!!

i traded my over built toyota mind you parts and lobor close to 25k with the new engine for a 98 dodge 2500 with the 360 4x4 bad move... i just traded it for a 2000 s10 and some cash never never should i have done it miss it bad but my new toyota is great but its not the same lol

To this point, I've been fortunate enough to not have to face the decision of 'sell something or go hungry'...so I have no issues just letting something sit until I get re-energized to work on it, or finally decide it's time to sell. I've bought and sold over 30 vehicles since I was 15 (24 now)...and I've only kept 3.

I have two cars that I cam close to selling and am glad I didn't. I have my first car, an 86 S-10 Blazer that is now rusted beyond reasonable safety, but too many memories in it. I'll fix it one day. Almost sold it back in college but the day the guy was coming to buy it the torque converter exploded. Guy backed out obviously, and I decided I like it too much to ditch it.

My 98 TA is the other one. I put it up for sale a few years back, kinda got tired of it and thought I might like something different. I priced it way high, thinking that was the price that could make me sell. Well, I was at a show and guy called me, said he had cash at my asking price and wanted to come buy it at the show. I just sat there staring at my car that I had just spent hours cleaning and told him it wasn't for sale any more. Never thought of selling it since.

I've had some form of sports car for 17 years,most recently a 485hp Z06.

I just sold it because I didn't drive it and was still making payments. No real corvette crowd my age here (all blue hairs it seems), so I started to have a hard time justifying it.

I miss it because of the time, blood and sweat I had invested in it. But I know I will need 4 seat eventually, so it had to go.

Traded my yj I had since I was like 16 a year and a half ago for an xj, regretted it almost immediately. Just bought it back a little over a week ago, I'll never let it out of mt my sight again lol.

I had a 70 Commando that I did a lot of work to. 350 Chevy with a 205 case, Scout 44 axles, SOA and 35s, open front and welded rear, hydro assist steering set up.

It was a sweet old rig. Drove great down the interstate at 75mph. I even drove it from Asheville to Chicago once.

Doors were bad to not stay shut. On day I made a turn and a cheap electrical set flew out the passenger door that opened. I turned around and got it. When I left I did half a doughnut and landed on the lid, with no cage. I was fine but the rig was wrinkled. I kept it for years under storage and would pull it out and drive around the yard when I got chance.

I got my current rig and the wife said something has to go. I sold it on NC4x4 for less than I had in steering. DAMNIT DAMNIT DAMNIT.

I hope to see it one day on the trail!

I sold my 97 4 banger TJ about 7 years ago. I had built it up into a pretty decent driver/wheeler. It wasn't anything super remarkable, but I had a lot of sweat equity in it.

I got laid off work, and sold it to FattyPackard on the board (i think he's still around, I don't know).

I regretted that ever since, and have gone through many POS beaters since then. This week I picked up another TJ, and I'm stoked.

It all comes back around. :driver:

Ha good stories there! That would make me even more upset if I saw my Jeep running around the same town. At least its outta sight... but not outta mind! Like yall said it will come back around. That was my 4th jeep but it was the most hooked up. Oh well, I dont think Im gonna go the 35" route with the next one.. Maybe 33's... cant make up my mind but there will be another one! ha ha

I sold my baby last week...

Don't miss the 9.8 mpg. In it's place we picked up a 2003 Grand Cherokee Laredo for me and a 2008 Hyundai Sonata for the wife. At least I'm still in the no payments category.
