ok so i will reply to my own thread.... i found this link and it is very helpful.... http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/faq/parts/
Im stuck between g52-g54 or a w56. All which uses the foward t-case and are the same length.... This one has 4 big bolt holes and 7 smaller holes? Would the 7 smaller holes be the front seal retainer? If it is than it should be a w56... what do yall think? And even if it was a g or w series, would it still bolt onto the 22r motor with no adapter? I know you would have to have driveshaft work because of them being longer but would they bolt to the 22r?
should be an 1984-1988 g52/g54 transmission with a gear driven transfer case. they ran a G series transmission in the 89-95 trucks but they had a 26 spline, chain-driven transfer case and they were only in a 4cyl 5spd 4x4 with ADD. Most of the 89-95 4cyl trucks ran the W series.
You must keep the tc you have now with the G series transmission where it's at now. The top shift, gear driven transfer case will bolt up on the back of your tc with the adapter.
From Marlin
A Donor Toyota Mini Truck Gear Driven Transfer Case. Note: The donor case that is being turned into the crawl box in this example is from a 1985 remote, or forward shifting transmission (G-52). You must make your crawl box out of whatever style will fit your existing transmission. HOWEVER, you must use a top shifting reduction box for your rearmost case.
