something I just saw about one of our own..

RIP my fellow soldier!:usa:

I like the post about naming a trail after him. That's a good idea.

Maybe put a sign at the trailhead so people can read about him & be reminded of the sacrifices for our freedom?

I will be towing my rig down tomorrow. I will be leaving Roxboro at around 10:30 am. I will unload at a public parking area within a few miles of the church and drive to the church from there. I would not suggest anyone bring a truck/trailer to the church because I believe that there will be a large amount of traffic. My hat is off to the off-road community for taking care of one of their own. I am proud to call all of you my friends.

Lets have a large turn out of trail rigs in honor of Art!

If your rig is not street legal please don't take any chances.

Church address:
St. Andrews United Methodist Church
121 Loftin Dr
Fayetteville NC 28311

BTW, There is a Walmart close to the church.
The Walmart address is 3725 Ramsey St. Fayetteville. 28311
I plan on leaving my tow rig and trailer in the parking lot there.
Mapquest will give you the best directions. Yahoo Maps does not recognize the street the church is on.

God Bless Him and his family.

that's horrible.....but no one can ever say he passed for the wrong reasons.... i can't express the amount of respect i have for him and all soldiers for defending our country and freedom...and taking the chance of giving it all so taht we can walk and talk as we do. RIP

and that is deff one fund i am happy to donate to, to honor a great man

Today I spent my entire day thinking about Art. The memorial service eased some of the pain but it will be many days before things get back to normal for me. The service today was one that I will remember for the rest of my life. Today in the service it was announced that Art died while saving another one of his team member's life. Art Lilley was an American hero and a patriot.

Thanks to all of those here that came to Fayetteville today to pay condolences to his family. It is greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure what was rougher. The ride there or the ride home. The service and of course the dinner with the Zu crew after that definately eased some of the pain but it's still rough

omg

i am currently in IRAQ with the NC army guard...i know thta art was stationed at ft bragg and i have wheeled with him several times at URE...each time during the ZUWARRIE run...he the most outgoing friendly and helpful person i met while wheeling with that crew...he will be missed terribly !!all my thoughts and prayers will be with his family and unit back in AFGANISTAN:usa::usa::usa::usa:

Crap... I didn't check the thread and missed the service!! :(

RIP Art, you will truly be missed. I didnt see this in time to be at the service.

I first started talking to him via message boards and then finally met him at the CNC4x4 show.. i think it was 2005... He was a great guy to talk to and a true american hero.. a few of the guys at zuwharrie are painting a part of their rigs "Art Orange".. I don't think he would mind if i did the same to my ole jeep... He will be missed

Never met Art or chatted with him, but from what I've read on here he must have been one hell of a guy. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of this fallen hero.
