So, I've been busting ass all trying to get ready for next weekends ride, replaced broken birf, built entire new ifs rear axle, truss, traction bar, rebuilt broken driveshaft...

Took her out for a spin this afternoon to flex it for new shock mounts and bump stops. Everything was going great and we decided to see if the traction bar was working well and try to burn out.

I put my dual trannies in 1st and 3rd, revved to about 4 grand and dumped the clutch. Pop. So, I'm thinking damn, busted a tranny, I've got no go in any gear, but, everthing still shifts well. Anyway, got back to the garage with a tow from a buddy and tore everything out again.

Turns out I sherred of the imput shaft to the t-case. Good and bad here, one, it is another testement to the strengh of a dual tranny setup. Other side is that now I have to find a top shift case by this weekend.

So, if anyone knows of one cheap, let me know.

Anyway, I'm sure that others have had similar situations before.

That sucks...PM ogyoda on here. Pretty sure he had a top shift case for sale.

uhm...can you explain "dual tranny"? i googled it, but you dont wanna know what turned up.

dually tranny's from what i've heard and read about are pretty much what it says... to trannys bolted together to a tcase... its like a tcase doubler... more gears to get a lower final output but with two trannys not to tcase... iirc

Yeah, exact same idea as "dual cases", except that you get a snotpile more options for gearing. And a box that is like 15 feet long, lol.

i've saving up for a triple tranny with dual cases setup, that way I can get my crawl ratio down to about 100000:1.

The other ig benifit is that you can run 4:10 gears on the street. If you run your first trans in 3rd and use your second trans to shift like a transmission. It gives your virtual 5.71 diff gears.
