My only dodge was an 05 so no cupcake for me. But dang... Thats a lot of trucks.

I'm curious about this

In addition, owners of more than a million older Jeeps with vulnerable rear-mounted gas tanks will be able to trade them in or be paid by Chrysler to have the vehicles repaired.
Chrysler is going to pay people to "fix" their old XJ? Seems like an instant bonus cash to put toward some lockers and lift...

What exactly is the "fix" for the XJs anyway?

A receiver hitch...

I got $275 because we had already had a reece hitch installed on ours.(zj)

Sounds like the govt has found another way to fleece more money out of the economy. Wonder where the fines end up going? It must be nice to be able to declare a fine when you want to.

How much did Government Motors get fined over their shoddy recall shenanigans?

Just googled it. So G(overnment) M(otors) had one of the largest recalls in history, (the numbers seem fudged to me to only include US) and only paid $35 mil!? FIAT, is being blamed for something they had mostly no idea about, and paying $105 mil. Seems fair with out current gov.

Seems like there will be some Hot deals on the Dealers lots, soon! And the value of any pre-recalled Chrysler products should increase!
Every where I go in my CJ, someone ask if I want to sell it? NOPE!

Kind of interesting that they only ordered the buyback on the 08+ trucks, considering that any built after 2003 could have the affected parts installed on them, and they were all subjected to the recall.

But only recalled for a factory condition back to 2008. Back to 2003 for service parts.

No, the reason there's a buyback is because there have been like three different recalls for the same exact problem. They issued repair parts, the repair parts got recalled. Etc.

Dang, I'd really like a nice Dodge diesel. Wonder if any will come up for sale...
Not at a reasonable price. Put a "C" badge on the fender and it adds about $10k to what the truck is actually worth.

Will they buy back my 2012 3500? *ahem* might be salvage title *ahem*
