Well I have a new job so I should have some time to hit UNF and other places this summer.
So in planning for that, I have few things I'm going to do to the heep before it gets nice out. If you guys have any suggestions let me know.
My goal is to improve the on road performace (the steering and front track bar will help there) as well as the offroad bit.
I'm trying to keep everything I do under 4k.
This is my DD. Since it's a DD I don't want to run bigger than 35" tires. At least not for a few more years. But I do need to get it safe feeling so my wife can drive it.
Things that are broke/bent/worn out:
Steering linkage, front track bar, rear DS ujoint.
That being said here is what I plan:
Stage 1:
Adj front track bar. (bought already, need to install tomorrow night)
Currie HD steering setup. (Going to order today or tomorrow depending on work)
1" body lift, 1" mml (don't ask how, one of the body mounts on mine is trashed, so I need the one that replaces the whole assembly)
rear adj upper control arms
New shocks. (haven't decided which brand yet.
Stage 2
Teraflex bellyup skid plate
Shortshaft SYE/ds
Tera long arm kit. (just the lowers, buying from a guy in NoVa hopefully otherwise, this will get revisited, and maybe change some stuff around)
muffler/exhaust work
Stage 3
not sure yet.
Rear axle and regear front (if I can find one under my budget)
Stage 3 might be next year. And include new springs, and bigger tires.
The only thing I'm wondering is replacing the adjustable uppers with something like this:
http://www.4wd.com/productdetails.aspx?pid=FTS7510
I'm guessing that's adjustable, and it looks like the mounts for the "arm" is in the stock location?
I'm guessing since it's bolt on I could bolt it onto a d35 for now, then take it off when I get a 44 or 8.8.
But i haven't really thought much about that option yet.
The rear axle might blow that budget though.
What are you guys thoughts?
