I saw something from a company call Evolution Offroad in Cali that specializes in JKs and I believe they make something similar....it may have just been some fansy type of jam nut. Ill see what I can find.

I've always heard it called a pinch bolt. Pretty easy to make, especially since you can tig.

I'm wondering if I can get a smothe bore weldable shaft collar and tap it for what I need.

The collars are about $8 each and are split with a clamp bolt and are weldable. They are about 1/2" wide as well.

Don't see why not, you'd just need to put a shim in the pinch part when you tap so it would draw up tighter againist the bolt when you're done. (Hope that makes sense)

yeah that makes sense.

checking with the shop to see if we have the LH and RH taps.
