I'm looking for some drawer bins/cups/dividers for a Lista/Vidmar type cabinet....like these:

Found those here: 37 PC Red Plastic Box Assortment 1" Deep / Four (4) SIZES

First found them on amazon, same pricing as on their website, and shipping is steep.

Anybody know of a good (reasonably affordable) source for similar??

Decided to build dividers instead of buying. About 1/10 the price.

Using the 5mm chinese poplar plywood from Lowes. Had a good finish, mostly solid core, will glue up good, and $15 a sheet. Right at 3/16".

First did a test run from hardboard:

Then started cutting down the ply. Rough cut with a saw guide to 24x24, then onto the table saw for final size of 23-3/8 square.

Got 10 of those bases, then started ripping dividers. Made 100 total, 1-5/8" wide.

Edge boards will be cut from some drops of 1/2" cabinet grade plywood I had saved up. Got a pile of them, 5"x24.

Tomorrow will sand the edges and cut half notches, then start glue-up.

Got 1 put together tonight.

First, used router to cut 3/16 groves by 3/16 deep in the 1/2 plywood. Found one scrap that was 2'x4'.

Wasn't perfect as I would like, cause I loaned out my big router and bits and guide, and I think they live in GA now.

After routing, I then cut on the table saw to 1-5/8 strips.

Then, I put one drawer insert together. Got off one side or another on a couple of the half-slots (I gang cut 5 and 6 at a time) so had to bow a couple of them to hit the side rails. Also should have cut the half-slots a hair wider, and also waited for the glue to set up attaching the side and end rails to the base. It was a game of wack-a-mole trying to tap the slots together, and not knocking the base plywood away from the frame (it was also tacked with 1" brads).

The others should go together pretty quickly, and I'll take care and not screw up the cut line again.

Insert #2 cobbled together today.

This one sized for 1/4" GR5 and GR8.

Basically will have 1 drawer for each size, smaller diameters will combine 5 and 8 in one drawer.

You opening a hardware store?

No but it takes 30 minutes to drive to Lowes or Tractor Supply, or the local industrial supply. We don't have much to chose from here. Got tired of having to run to the store for 2 bolts to finish a project, or waiting til the next trip across town, so several years ago started buying in quantity. ("Quantity" being about 50 each of smaller bolts, 10-20 each of bigger sizes). It's nice to open a drawer, and grab whatever you need. Just got a shipment in of about 125# of grade 8. Got them from Amazon, they had the best deal I could find including shipping. They are good enough quality for most things. Last time, I bought from I think it was Zoro, but had a 20% coupon.

Between new projects, fixing stuff, and friends, I go thru them. Figuring what I just bought will last me at least 3 years, replenishing some common sizes as I go. When everything is low, I'll buy another assortment. I do have a donation can for friends and neighbors to contribute when they need something. Probably come out ahead on that.

Can I go ahead and sign up for your estate sale in advance or do I have to wait for the day of the auction? You've got some good shit [emoji38]
I am thinking I will just let my executor give the whole lot away....house, shop, tools, toys....Cyd and Shawn will have one hell of a 12 days of Christmas giveaway for the 12th day.

Next time I need some bolts I know where to go.

I am getting just enough shop time to make one a day. Ended up, after the first one, changing the design. I am now making fixed dividers front to back, with a 3/16x3/16 dado to receive removable dividers. Grooves are offset by 1/2" from one row to the next.

Faster to build and should work better.

Total to have a nice supply of bolts wasn't too bad. 3400 Pcs Grade 5 for $130, around 3800 pcs Grade 8 for $230, about $50 in materials. So...about $410 total. Well worth it to (almost) always have what I need.

Cabinet came from DRMO, traded labor for it many years ago.
