Anyone here know much about South Bends? I have worked on and with a few lathes, and it is time to snap up my own, leaning towards a heavy 10 because size wise it will do most of what I need, and parts are mostly compatible with up-sizes if I am understanding everything correctly (13+).

Aside from serious bed damage, is there anything else I should check / look out for? What items should I go over / repair / replace / lube before firing it up and putting it to work?
