I made a lockable storage box under my trailer bed with all my spare axle shafts (front 60 for me and my dad's bronco, we use different ford 60s so 4 shafts), my spare 14 bolt shafts, plus a spare front driveshaft for me. I like having them stored on the trailer permanently so I dont have to worry about leaving them at home, or loading/unloading a bunch of crap every trip, and I just need someone to run back to camp if I cant make it back there on my own.
Yea I worried about the distance from camp thing, but honestly every time I've broken so far I've limped back to camp to fix at my leisure with a real jack and more tools/electricity, etc. I figured if I'm so broke that I'll have to do an actual trail repair then I can get one of the group to run back to camp while I tear down, even if its from the entrance of mason jar in Harlan back to the cabins.
Get next size up tubing. Cut off an inch or two, weld some ears on it and drill them out. On mounted side, weld a nut to bolt into.
Two for each drive shaft. I do have issue with slip yokes running out, so I ziptie them to the mount.
PM me your number and I will text a pic to you
