I have a 2004 Dodge Durango with a 4.7, I put Denso TT plugs in about 6 months ago. Since then on two different occasions the plug in the #1 cylinder has burnt the tip off.

The first time it happen I thought maybe the injector on that cylinder was weak making the cylinder run lean. I replaced the injector and didn't have a problem for about 3 months.

Then about a month ago I started getting a Cylinder 1 misfire code, I'd reset it and then about 2 weeks later it comes back. Yesterday it just starts skipping and I pull the #1 plug and this is what find again.

Intake leak causing a lean condition???

I forgot to meantion, for about a year now I have had a slow coolant leak I can't find, at least I think its a coolat leak. When ever the temp outside is above about 65-70 and I let it idle it will heat up. (I have never actuall let it boil the needle just goes up to about 3/4 the way to hot) I check the water level and it will be low. I've been leaning towards a bad head gasket but I can't find any water in my oil, coming out of my tail pipe and I don't have oil in my coolant. The other issue from november until Feb I never over heated and I never had to add coolant.

The vehicle runs perfect until it does this to the plug. I am beginning to wonder if my coolant problem and plug problem may related.

can you get an inspection scope and look in the cylinder? if the valves are white it's the head gasket.
i have done a bunch of head gaskets on 4.7's, the only thing i ever see wrong is the aluminium heads are warped.

I just did a cooling system preasure test and it held 20 psi for 10 minutes the pressure never dropped a bit.
