If you wanted to pull speakers at Pull-A-Part, what would be a good , fairly common vehicle that would have some good ones?

Does anyone know how much speakers would be a PAP?

Matt

I'd go for a Lincoln or Caddy. They tend to have rediculous sound systems, given their demographic can't hear and only listen to talk radio anyway.

Personally though, I wouldn't bother, when you can dig aroudn online and buy equal or better quality speakers new for only a fraction more, and you don't have the unknown factors of sitting in weather etc.

The grand Cherokee with infinity system (amp under passenger rear seat) seem to have good speakers....usually a ton of them @ PAP.

Look for Concorde, Chrysler 300, Dodge Intrepid late 90's early 2000's. Some had Infinity systems and they are pretty standard shapes/ sizes.

Problem is it's a crap-shoot if they are blown or not. I don't know a good way of testing them in the field.

look for dry rot, UV damage, left to weather.

not sure of your application; new is cheap too, these days.

Well, I'll call it a score.
I decided to just go and wander around and see what I found.
I'll admit to a bit of racial profiling as I looked at what I thought might hold something worthwhile.
I ended up finding a pair of 5.25 Sony 190watt Xplode, under a rear deck so they were out of the weather.

Work like a champ .. well worth the 13 bucks and change plus the dollar admission!

When I worked at the salvage yard you could almost always tell by lookin at the vehicle how much gas it would have.A Honda w a mcdonalds apron in the trunk and 14 coexist/Bob Marley/make love not war bumper stickers means no gas,a fullsize car w one piece clear floor mats front and back means a tank full.I swear some of those folks musta got hit pullin out of the gas station.

Many things I will never forget, when I worked at gas stations! One customer was an older man that was a Painter. Drove a beat up Chevy truck, & the Wife always went with him. He'd stop in every work day, & get 4-5 gallons of regular. I asked one time why he didn't fill it up, for the week. He asked me, "What if someone runs into me? Then I got a wrecked truck, full of gas!" O, Well!!:shaking:

Our nephew had a '97 Escort PSO car. Never filled up b/c he's a poor college kid.
Last month, he got side-swiped and the car was totalled. Had just added it up to 3/4 tank. He was seriously debating siphoning the gas back out before the wrecker came to tow it away from the house.

97 Escort had what, a 12 gallon fuel tank? Man.... 9 whole gallons of liquid gold. That's like a rolling 401K right there.
