I wonder why the european style a-frame quick hitch has never taken off on this side of the world? From what I have seen (on youtube), they seem to work better than what is typically sold. They even make them that automatically connect the PTO.

There are a handful of manufacturers (3 I found) that make them in the US. Expensive, but if they took off and became more standard, price would come down fast.

Wonder what the drawbacks are?

Does seem like a good idea. The thing is, if you buy a tractor and every implement at the same time like with a jd or case quick hitch system then it's just as easy as in the video, buy you pay for it. If you buy universal shit then obviously it's gonna be a lot quicker but a bigger pain. With Kubota telescopic lower links and top/tilt cylinders it doesn't take much more time than hooking up a pro shaft and you can hook up to anything sitting behind any barn in the country.

What I do think is cool about tractors in eu is that the high range on even smaller size tractors is geared like a backhoe... You can do 30mph down the road.

I just wish that the quick hitches were actually "universal". Seems that every manufacturer has they own idea of what the standard is when they call their implement "quick hitch compatible". I've had to tweak every thing I have, and finally just went back to the standard pins and arms.

I think all manufacturers now offer some kind of controls on the back of tractor for hooking up. It’s super easy with them. Buddy has a John Deere with it

Your jeans will be too tight, you will talk with a funny accent, and you will think taxes are a good thing.

Seems like it would be easy enough to retrofit. Or put a universal skidsteer mount on there.
