I need to get a so-called speedo "calibration" on my mazda.
Word is there are no places in Winston that do it, but a few in Greensboro - any reccomendations?

been acouple of years, but the flow chevy place on stratford did it last time I needed it done for a ticket, cost about $35.

they are worth giving a call to the service dept tomorrow

Riverview Auto Parts on Baltimore Road. US421 West to the Baltimore Road exit on the Yadkin County side of the Yadkin River bridge. Top of the ramp, turn left toward Old 421, about a quarter mile on the left.

Would have NEVER happen in the 4rnr... "Zoom, zoom, zoom"

You've got that right! It's hard to get "Driving Excitement" in a giant box with 22re, 32s and an automatic.
The Mazda, on the other hand... light body, tight handling... and a stupid speedo that reads up >140mph, w/ only icnrements on every 20 (e.g., 40, 60, 80). That in combo w/ (slightly) oversized tires makes it none too easy to realize how fast you're actually going.

(well that's my lawyer's excuse for the DA anyway lol)

Aside from the calibration for "improper equipment", I'm actually looking into replacing the gauge and appropriate regearing (well, it's digitally controlled) w something more practical (e.g., 0-100, 10mph numbers)

I've actually been out to them once before. Took my wife's Saturn there.
Loopy old fella running the place. Didn't strap/lock down the vehicle or anything for running the tire on the meter. Scared the pi$$ outta me watching it slide all over the place while he hammered the pedal. Then he wrote down the numbers backwards, switching the actual and "read" values so that it reported reading fast, not slow.
I'd rather try someplace else this round.

Oh and btw for anybody who does go there, they only take cash, no checks or credit, even though the sticker's still on the door. They stopped paying the fees and Mastercard cut 'em off.

Moorefields Automotive in King.....on old 52.

Call 1st to make sure they still have it.
