Sportbike owners... question

A RR ANYTHING isn't a good bike for a novice street rider. They're twitchy, can easily get away from you, and have enough brake to lock the front tire at will. There's a reason Honda makes an F4i and the RR. Hell, the F4 used to be their top-shelf sporting bike, but they just wanted the RR for racing.

x11 on the VFR. Reliable, comfy, and 80-90% of any sportbike out there.

And if altoids thinks a bike with a strut rides anywhere near as well, he's forgotten what suspension feels like. fuuuuck that shit.

LOL, I thought this thread was just going to die after altoid's post.

FWIW, I've had no such problems out of my Ducati that everyone else has. Maybe it's because I was poor(ish) and couldn't afford a 4 valve motor at the time. My old 900SS starts up and runs perfectly every time I get on it and I wouldn't trade it for the world. High revving v-twins give me a puffy.

My brother has got a 2004 suzuki sv650s for sale....Great beginner bike...v twin power so more torque down low, and a little more comfortable than a ss.....$4250.....let me know if you want pics

What about a first bike for a heavy (300lb) & tall (6'7") rider?

I've rode many miles on a dirt bike, but looking to get a sport bike.

LOL, I never said the SS was comfy! It kinda sucks after about 4 hours of aggressive riding. It really sucks after 1 hour of highway.

Unfortunately, a big sport bike is kinda an oxymoron. None will be that comfortable. See above post. Your best bet will will be a used ST. More upright postition. Better on arms and neck and a better seat. They still have plenty of twisyt prowess, though. Me, if i'm looking to ride comfortable, I just get on my big bitch, the Valkyrie. Now that's a bike I can ride all day long and it's got the testes to haul plenty of ass.

heres some info on my bros bike
04 suzuki SV650S bike up for sale. This bike is yellow, and comes with a two brothers exhaust, stainless steel brake lines, a power commander USB, full fairing, rear seat cover (painted to match the bike) and a rear chain cover + fender combo color matched to the bike. Bike has only had synthetic oil in it.

that's a nice bike what are you asking for it? I have a buddy who is also looking.

Anyways, here's the bike I'm looking at and will most likely buy. Only scratch on it is on the left side engine cover where he forgot to put the kickstand down in his driveway.

It has a Two Brothers slip on, 3300 miles, OES sliders, LED's, etc.... and at a really good price compared to identical bikes w/ same or more miles....

cbr600rr

Yeah the saftey class would be taken b/c my insurance company will cut me a better deal... Does something around $40/mo sounds bad for a 8000.00 bike w/ Comp./Col. and 250.00 deductable?
As for the Honda.. I do like the new Honda CBR600RR I also like the GSXR600.. I dont really want to spend much over 8000.00 on a bike.
As for 400 miles trips.. dont think the junk could take that :shaking: but never ridden on that far.
EDIT: Ride comfort doesnt really matter to me in the sense of long trips, etc.... I'm more interested in Honda CBR's, GSXR's, etc.

I've got a 05 CBR600rr with about 2900 miles for sale if you're interested. shoot me a PM for pics. It's black with gunmetal tribal flames. just like the one above.....$6500
