Does anybody know a good place around Charlotte that can move spring perches? Tar Heel 4wd wants 2 hrs of labor which is like $130 plus the spring perches to do it, seems a little high to me. Thanks!

Depends on what else you are trying to do. We charge an hour plus the perches to do it, depending on what else is going on with the truck.

704-525-5109 Give me a shout and we cna take care of it for you.

I can tell you don't do any of your own work... You should try doing it yourself and then you'd see 2 hours is very reasonable.

Your labor bill is covering all the tools and experiece that goes along with having a shop do that kind of job... Not to mention the time it takes to give out quotes to people... just somthign to think about...

Well put Mike..... :)

I wouldn't say I don't do any of my own work, I can show you some pics of my '90 Chevy SAS project if you want some proof. :smokin:

Anyway, Zubz this is a dana 60 rear that I'm putting under the chevy. I don't need the perches rotated, just moved out an inch, and possibly the shock mounts moved (need to make a couple more measurements before I decide that). I wouldn't be bringing the whole truck, just the axle.

I assume that # is for the place you work at? Do you guys work on Saturday? If so I'll bring the axle down tomorrow.....

You could just cut the old ones off yourself and then get someone to weld them back on. That would be a lot cheaper. $20 to weld them on seems reasonable.

I don't see it said if this axle is in the vehicle or not.

If it is out - 2 hours is not un-reasonable. By the time you cut off the old ones, grind & prep the tubes and weld them back on.

If the axle is in the vehicle, 2 hours VERY reasonable. (Read as CHEAP)
Start to finish - I question if it could be done *correctly* any faster than that. Even if everything went smooth as silk.

takes me every bit of 2 hours to do them, and thats if I don't get interrupted by phone calls, the dog, the wife, etc.
