so the paint isnt going to chip off with after running it and cooling down? where the stacks chrome before? im thinking about painting mine

Where's firetoy? He needs to do this on his truck. take a note tim.

I had 6" mitres on my 05 and they had to go. I couldn't hear people in the back seat talking when I was pulling a trailer. I'm running 5" turbo back now. I've heard the turnouts aren't as bad in the cab.

Could also put a small bullet muffler in-line, it will help the noise level a little..

Never ran stacks on mine because no windshield + stacks = soot all over the seats of the trail rig..

Thanks for the comments guys. I actually got a real good deal on these from Discount Power Parts. I had to wait because nobody carries unfinished stacks so they saved me a pair before they went to chroming. I heated the pipes up then coated them with high temp primer and paint. Install took about 2.5 hrs. The soot really isnt all that bad unless I floor it and even then its not too thick.

The pipes are from Grand Rock and the kit is designed to be muffler free. I actually had to weld up a custom elbow to go up to the cab but I was told it should "fall into place"

dude that truck looks sick

I want to run a set of stacks on my '78 F-250......need to look for a used set.

lookin pretty bad ass!

next time i need a tow to uwharrie i'll be sure to PM you so we can see if soot will be a problem :)

Trick my truck put some 10" stacks on a truck..

Yeah it must be nice to have a tv show that will front the money for that. I have thought about putting 10" stacks on my dump truck but the kit is like $4,500 so thats out of the question. I guess it will just have to keep the 7" stacks for now.

Just drove to Boone this weekend and the stacks worked great. Not too loud and sounds great. Went about 70-75mph and got a constant deep rumble. This kit + the primer and paint cost me $370 total. The unfinished stacks were $40 each vs $130 for chrome. "CHROME WONT GET YA HOME"

i dont like it when people push their toolboxes back to fit stacks, they need to cut, fab and weld some way to fit stacks w/ a box...
