Stalling in reverse?

My 98 4.3 TB auto S-10 will stall sometimes when I back up and lift the peddle to shift to drive, a few times its died but starts back up normally.What would cause this, I don't think it ever happened until after the trans. was rebuilt.

a pump problem (checkball in stator)
internal wiring harness, (did it throw a code)
check wiring next to manifold to make sure nothing has melted on them

Thanks, It's kind of an issue when backing out of a driveway or on a hill in a parking lot. Had it inspected recently not sure if the codes were checked then? I'll check what I can.

Shift into neutral, rev rev rev, then drop onto drive when she's purring at about 2500 rpms and that should getcha a place in the douche mobile thread!

No seriously.... Get that resolved because in the right circumstances it could be a dangerous situation with oncoming traffic.
