My State Farm agent wants to have a meeting with me tomorrow to discuss any gaps in my coverage so I've reached out and got quotes from other insurance companies to take with me. I'll compare apples to apples tonight with all the quotes in front me, but at a glance it looks like Geico would end up saving me some money. Anybody on here with opinions on either or have another company I should look in to?

Thanks,
Brandon

Had state farm for years, switched to progressive for all my vehicles and saved quite a bit. Especially if you call and talk to someone on the phone. I've never had an insurance claim so honestly the "personal service" means nothing to me. I'm sure there are some insurance salesmen on the board that will disagree.

I ran with Geico and Progressive for years, no interaction besides the monthly auto-draft. But I did this dance about a year ago...and I wanna know who these people are that are saving $500 by switching insurance companies. Knock on wood, but no accidents in 15 years, and the last ticket I got was for a seat belt 10 years ago. I have one vehicle with Hagerty and 4 others that are winner take all with the quotes. 2 are full coverage and 2 are liability/comprehensive...mid level deductibles, and the dollar amount they advised. I got quotes from state farm, geico, progressive, farm bureau, nation wide, etc etc. They were all within $50 of each other. So my deciding factor ended up being who I could get a personal number from to contact 24/7. Farm Bureau did just that, personal agent I call when I have a question about a bill, change in policy, question about a policy...I've even added new jewelry pieces I purchase for the wife after hours and on weekends. Outside of one hiccup with the annual $20 membership that didn't autodraft and lapsed my coverage for about 3 days, unbeknownst to me...which resulted in a heavy 3 month discount, I've been extremely happy. At this point, I probably have 7-8 different policies with them.

I've been with more than I can remember, switch often to find the best price, stay with the big names and the service is usually good. No one insurance is the best or the cheapest, it changes constantly.

Geico on vehicles, progressive on the toys. Never had any trouble out of either company.

Allstate had the best prices for us. We when first switched to them, we had renters, homeowners, and 3 vehicles. Then I bought a crappy truck (90 F150 beater), and added it to our policy, and the overall cost went DOWN ~$50 every 6 months because of the multivehicle discount! Like others have said, shop around. The more policies you have with them, the more discounts they have to tie together.

Also, as strict as NC insurance laws are, all policies are pretty much the same at a given coverage amount.

Another vote for NC Farm Bureau. I've had homeowners, vehicle, and renters policies with them for 10 years. I filed a minor at fault claim on my auto and storm damage on my homeowners and neither policy went up.
