Hey everyone i know this is a dumb question but i dont know the answer so here goes.
In NC do you have to have fenders the same width of your tires or is it free game to have them stick out.
thanks ahead of time for the answer

I do not know 100%, but I have not heard of a fender law in NC.

I have a state trooper who stops by my shop pretty often. He's pretty into crawlers so he comes by and shoots the crap. When I finished the yota truggy a few weeks ago he looked it over and said it shouldn't be a problem to have no fenders but the bigger issure is not having a rear bumper because of what would happen if you were to be rearended.

makes no sense, how do complete tube sandrails get inspected and end up on the road w/ no bumpers?:confused:

Hey Chris, is it Daryl? Tell him I said hey.

I've never been pulled in 25 years for that, my tires have always stuck out. Drive like you have some sense and they'll leave you alone. If they do pull you their really bored or you're looking really unsafe for some reaason.

Yea I think his name is darryl edgars I know his last name by can't ever remember his first. He's a super nice guy. He's big into early broncos. I tell him I you said what's up.

I had a buggy with boggers and no fenders front or rear, no problems and drove anywhere I wanted in W-S, NC. Never seen a 27 T bucket street rod with fenders.

Most consider the front tube axle assembly on a VW rail as a bumper.....most have a rear engine cage.

They are getting tougher on VW rails/dune buggys

I heard about the bumper law....but no a fender law.

My tires on my XJ stick out pretty far past the flareless fenders and I've been given no trouble about it.

well do yall know what the bump law is like my bumper is 38" off the ground is that ok
I don't think there is a bumper height law.

I believe the only real law about that is you are only allowed 6" lift over stock height including added height from tires, but off road and recreational vehicles are exempt i.e. every vehicle on this site.
