i'm meeting a truck driver friend in Statesville on Tuesday at Love's. I owe him dinner. Looking for somewhere safe to eat....I got alpha gal mammal allergy. Can usually find something safe to eat at seafood places, greek places, nicer joints that have a chef vs. a cook, etc. Most fast food places try to kill me...along with chinese and most mexican places that put fat into everything.

Any recommendations? Don't want to drive too far, cause he will have just spent 2 days on the road.

Damn...is that the red meat tick thing?

Yep. More people need to be aware of it. I'd guess about 50% of medical personnel I have asked have not heard of it, or know nothing about it other than hearing the name. Lots of people have it....the official numbers are around 3-5% of people in the SE US have it, some local populations up to 20%. Most are undiagnosed. Most that are diagnosed figure it out on their own, then get confirmation with testing, after begging their PCP or allergist to do the (right) test.

Really mentioned it above just to rule out half the restaurants in S'ville.

It sounds horrible. I love red meat.

Twisted oak isn't a chain type place and might fit what you need?
There is also Randy's bar b q , but that may not work for you?
Most of the other stuff in Statesville is of the chain variety.
