Steel 40' trusses, purlins and roof tin from old chicken house

Dad is wanting to tear down our old chicken houses so he wants to sell some of the materials.

One 40' angle iron steel truss, 10' 2x6 purlins and roof tin for a 10' long section $500.

We have probably 700' worth to sell.

Chicken houses are still standing and all materials are in good condition. Roof tin has some surface rust but very solid. We've had the roof painted a couple times over the years.

Do those trusses split in the center into 2 sections? Or are they solid 40ft

They do bolt together in the middle.

Posts are angle iron. They're included, minus a little at the bottom where we have to cut them off because they're in concrete.

This is how we mounted the legs to a 6x6 post for a storage shed we built from these trusses. We drilled through the 6x6 and ran a bolt all the way through. The truss just sits on the top of the 6x6.

Actually, there was thick plastic stapled to the bottom of the purlins that we removed years ago. It was used to hold up fiberglass batt insulation. But it kept the trusses and purlins separate from the inside of the chicken house.

We removed the plastic and got rid of the insulation when we took the houses out of production. County tax department required us to remove all the equipment before they would reduce the tax value on them. So everything came out when we pulled the electrical.
