Steelers

Actually, thsi was really bothering me...
There was that play where the Cards ended all teh way at the 1 yard line Steelers end, and a Steelers player (can't recall name/who) got flaggeed for clearly pushing and beatin ga Cards player after the play had ended.
They were given the penalty - but nothing happened? Steelers were still given posession, and no yardage penalty - and dude should have been flat out ejected from the game for that.
did I miss something? It just seems liek there was zero actual penalty for the foul... they still ended up w/ posession.

you missed it...the infraction happend after the change of possesion, so Pitt retained the ball. The penalty was probably a 15 yarder, but since the ball was on the ~2 yd line, it was assesed as half the distance to the goal.

I caught that it was time for a change in possesison anyway.
What bothered me was the aparent lack of penalty - e.g. no 10-15 yard push back. That would have put it into their end zone.
I didn't know about the "half the distance" rule until 5 minutes ago talking to a coworker.

I'm sorry but that's a pretty stupid case, goin gfrom 2 yards to 1 yard in menial. And, that dude should really have been ejected for that.
