Hey guys. Need some help. My steering box went out on my truck. A replacement at AutoZone is around 120.00 bucks. No problem. I was wondering if anyone knew if a box off of a 3/4 1990 suburban may work? Reason being, the ones on the suburban are weight rated I'm guessing GVW and I want a more heavy duty since I'm running 42's. They don't have one in stock or I'd just pull mine take it in and compare. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Oh the truck is power steering also

Are you running crossover steering? I'd guess so since you have 42s.

Anyway, yes, it'll bolt up no problem. It just depends on whether you're using a 4wd steering box or a 2wd box. 4wd goes front to back, 2wd goes side to side.

Dont have cross over steering, id like to, I ended up with more lift than what i really wanted, i think im just gonna go back with the original steering box and start looking for a 6 in lift and run some 35's or 37's

I'd still do crossover. You'll be amazed how much better it will steer, especially when you flex it, plus it'll be much less likely to rip the steering box out of the frame.
