Steering Column

A buddy's got a 95 yj with a broke steering column. it has a crack in the cast metal right behind the steering wheel lock.[think it happened in a previous wreck]. does anyone know if a cherokee steering column will work from the steering wheel to the firewall.

I put a XJ steering column in my buddy's YJ. We just had to make some minor modifications to the XJ column. If the column from the XJ is an automatic, it has an extra rod in it that goes to the lock cylinder to prevent you from shifting with the key off. We also had to cut off the firewall mounting plate, which was quite easy. Other than that, it was plug and play with the wiring.

I also put a XJ column in my YJ. Had to trim off the end at the firewall.
