Are you using tre's or heims for the drag link? Why not just drill a new hole closer to the upper ball joint in the hi steer arm? How close are you actually getting to the steering stops? It may not even be noticeable when you drive it and with big tires it'll extend the life of the u-joints in the front shafts not being able to turn as sharp.
When you installed the new axle with hi-steer did you redo the panhard bar to match the new drag link angle? If not and the panhard mounts close to the stock location on the axle the you may need a flatter pitman arm to get the two closer to the same angle to help with bump steer.
