Steering stabilizers and IFS

I've got a 02 frontier that I run 33's on. I just bought a set of tires and wheels and the wheels must have at least an inch more of backspacing. I can tell a difference in the way it steers and there is much more bump steer. I am considering buying a steering stabilizer but I want to know if anyone has used them on a ifs rig, and if it made a difference. Advance auto sells a rough country and rancho stabilizer, but they don't appear to come with mounting brackets and hardware. Could I esentially make my own with a spare shock? I would just need to weld a mount to the center link and frame, right?
