HEy everyone, I'm in need of a steering upgrade on my 05 Wrangler Rubicon and I just wanted to get some opinions on different kits that people use and how they like them. I deffinentialy want to get rid of the factory "Y" Design. Been looking at the ORO U-Turn kit but it is a little pricey, could I save money by getting a local 4x4 shop make a custom setup? Thanks in advance for all the advise.

Yeah you can always go custom with DOM and heims. I just got the rock Krawler kit. I like the way it drives and it's really beefy.

I would have gone custom with heims but I got a good deal on RK stuff with RK track bar. I've had track bar issues and decided to get matching setup so drag link and track bar would be on same plane. Plus there is a lifetime warranty on everything but the heims.

If I had already had a good existing track bar I would have probably went the custom route.

I have been running a currie corect linc for a few years now and love it, it has been cramed into rocks many times.

i havent had any experience with the rockcrawler kits, i bet there good stuff though.

thanks for the info, ill take a look at those kits, plus call a shop or 2 to see what they can do as far as a custom setup.

We can set you up with the Rock Krawler Kit for a good deal. They use good rod ends and the lifetime warranty is hard to beat.

here is the custom with DOM and heims i did

how are Heim Joints for everyday driving, like on the rock krawler kit, are they noisy, require alot of attention, wear out quickly i drive my jeep 40 miles almost everyday round trip to work. that one thin i like about to ORO kit is that it uses factory TRE, can pick them up cheap at any parts store

They use FK rod ends which are way better than anything midwest control, ruff stuff or QA1 offers. Its a rod end with a fabric based PTFE liner which is light years ahead of any injected style race. I can go over specifics of why they are so much better if you'd like.
The rod ends are very low maintenance, they just like to be kept clean as best as you can. They don't pop, make noise or anything like that and since we deal a lot with FK we'll have rod ends ready if you ever have an issue.
