I need to rebuild a couple of saws. Anybody got a recommendation on where to buy Stihl parts? Reasonable on-line source would be great.

I ran over my MS192T about 6 yrs ago. I took it up to Farmers Feed and Seed in Kernersville, and he ordered every part I needed and had them there in a few days or so. Probably not much help to you since they aren't close to you. I have nothing to compare their pricing to either.

It would be cool to find an online store with exploded assembly diagrams where you could order any part of the saw. That is the way I use to buy dirt bike parts before I hung up my boots a few years ago. I'll point a guy to this thread who owns over 40 saws. Maybe he has some good online stores.

I was going to recommend Farmers Feed and Seed also. Not sure if Wayne still works there but if so the man is a small engine guru and will fix you up.

Yes Wayne is still there. Tell him snappy sent ya.

Baileys....search, they will have everything u need to build a saw from ground up including diagrams. Also if you need info or troubleshooting hit up thearboristsite forum

As ^ said, www.arboristsite.com has all the info you need for saw tech. Stihl is very protective of their illustrated parts lists (IPL's as the cool guys say). I buy all my Stihl parts from Mount Holly Farm Supply (local) or Ebay. If you can find a part number, then you can buy it on the internet, but sometimes its not worth the time/effort and I just go to the local place.

google rons saw shop he is in south dakota but if there was a part we (outdoorpower in salisbury) couldnt get he could.. but most stihl dealers can get parts in two business days.. id go local

sent from deep space via galaxy S 2

Aube's napa store in mt. pleasent off of highway 49 is an authorized stihl dealer, but I know that kinda far for ya kaiser.

I've only bought the regular service parts- chains, bars, and air filters from this ebay store. Quick shipping and good prices on OEM Stihl parts. They are located in Greensboro.

Sounds like Stihl needs to get into the 21st century. Convenience is key, sure beats going somewhere, ordering a part, waiting for it to come in, and then go back an pick up the part. Why not just have it come to the house and save the hassle.

Why not? So that the dealers can continue to charge full markup and a $5 "special order" fee...
