Sorry if this has already been answered before, but I'm tired of searching without finding a clear answer.

I need to replace the stock pitman arm on my YJ with a flat pitman arm. The length will need to be 5.5" or shorter. Does anyone know of any stock applications (part numbers, or make/model/year) that would fit the stock YJ saginaw box?

I plan to use the stock size YJ TRE (not going to 1 ton steering now). My plan was to ream a CJ power steering pitman arm but it is too long. I have heard about rangers and astro vans, but never got a clear answer on if it will work with the stock YJ steering box and what the actual length is.

I'm pretty sure an Astro pitman arm is what you need.
May wanna Google it to make sure

Wow, I was way off. FSJ is closer to 7 C-C. Disregard.

Yup. Astro arm should be what you need.

Thanks for the PN reference. Do you happen to know what the length of this arm is? I have read where the flat astro arms are the same length as the CJ's (6.5"-6.75"). The one you suggested looks like it has a slight drop to it, which is fine, but I'm hoping it is 5.5" or shorter.

It looks like there is one locally at a parts store. I guess I can go an measure this afternoon if I don't find anything else.

Yeah, that thread is not the most concise. At first it lead me to believe that a CJ pitman arm would work at 5.5", but that is only for manual steering. The thread then states that the manual steering gear box has a smaller splined shaft.

I'm not sure where you discovered PN K6653 but it looks like it will work well as long as I can get the TRE taper to work. The only thread I could find that referenced that pitman arm is Pretty basic Golden Eagle - Pirate4x4.Com : 4x4 and Off-Road Forum. Apparently it is for a Chevy Express van. Thanks for the help.
