I am running the stock YJ front driveshaft and Tom Woods wants $219 for his PREMIUM driveshaft. The stock front dshaft looks kind of puny compared to the 4.88s and 36 tires. Or spend some on a cage? Anybody slinging a lot more tire and gear into a stock shaft?

You know, everybody has different stories, but....I ran stock front driveshafts for a couple of years with 7.17s and 38s and never had one let go. Still carry one as a spare. Did blow up an inner and outer axle shaft at DPG though

IMO i would cage it first. that was the first thing i did to my jeep, and a rear bump so i could get pulled out. safety first
