Sometime late Thursday or early Friday someone stole the wheels and tires from my son-in-law's 1998 Jeep Cherokee, which was parked with a for sale sign near the intersection of Stony Hill and Purnell Rds in northern Wake County.

The tires are 33x12.50 Maxxis Bighorns, and the wheels are 15x10 Dick Cepek black and chrome.

Please keep an eye out and let me know if you see any like these for sale.

Thanks!

That's terrible. Hope they turn up somewhere.

Am I looking at the picture right, did they take the brake drum too? They probably wanted some extra scrap metal.

Well, damn. I didn't even notice that.

I just asked Jason (son-in-law) and he said they used them as blocks to set it on.

Update.

Someone saw them for sale yesterday. Jason hunted them down, turned over the info to the detective, he got a search warrant and they found them.

Glad you found them. I think we've all had things stolen and they never turn up again. It's great to see things go the right way every now and then.

I hope they save one of those tires & shove it up the thief's ass......then repeat.

Glad they were found...too often, that is not the case.

Yeah, it is rare to find stolen stuff ever again. Jason got the word out and worked it like a hound-dog and then turned it over to the police. The police themselves don't have the manpower to chase these things down.

It turns out these assholes (Roger Dale Nipper and son) have been involved in a lot of auto theft around here.

Here's a link to an older story about this guy: Franklin Co. authorities charge two in multi-county auto theft ring :: WRAL.com

He needs them stuffed up there.

Good for your son! I had a bunch of tools stolen out of a lock box in my Jeep. The cop that filed the report had a real good idea who took it, but couldn't do anything about it.

"....Franklin County authorities are calling the bust of a major auto theft ring....14 stolen trucks and truck parts valued at an estimated $1 million."

All this, just two years ago, and these two pieces of shit are still at it? Sounds like Franklin County is the place to steal stuff. You dont do any serious time, eh?!:shaking:

Thanks for the replies and good thoughts, folks. I'm still amazed that he was able to get them back from those losers.

It is quite amazing that the guy is not still in jail from his prior escapades.

cause the jail is too full of dudes caught for holding 1 gram of weed

That's the damn truth. The "war on drugs" is just like the "war on alcohol" during Prohibition...didn't we learn anything then?
